About my Counselling Service

I practice from my home in Measham which is just on the border of Leicestershire and South Derbyshire.

The model of therapy I use is Transactional Analysis (TA)

Transactional Analysis (TA) is a "talking therapy" in that it is a way of helping people look at what goes on within themselves and their relationships in order to make positive changes and achieve personal growth.

The philosophy of the TA approach is based on the beliefs that:
  • Everyone is OK
  • We can all think
  • We all have the ability to decide what the right choices are for us.

TA is known as an integrative psychotherapy, this is because, although it includes elements of the Freudian psychoanalytical approach, TA also draws upon several other models including Gestalt, Person-Centered counselling as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

TA is also used in organizations, schools, colleges and businesses as well as in clinical settings.

Professional Bodies

I am a member of the Institute of Transactional Analysis (ITA) and the European Association for Transactional Analysis (EATA).

I adhere strictly to their code of Ethics for Professional Practice and am subject to their complaints procedure.

All Practice is supervised by a qualified trainer and supervisor.
